BackgroundWhen Catch was first launched in 1984 it was truely breaking new ground. Sporting a licorice flavor and being portion packed, it was to be the first non-tobacco flavored snus on the market. Back then, portions were something very rare, making it inovative in more ways than one. In 1986 it was followed by a mini portion and has kept evolving ever since and has grown to become one of the top selling snus brands around. A relativly large share of Catch users are female, unlike many of the other snus brands availible. Much due to the fact that they offer fresh tastes such as licorice and eucalyptus but also thanks to the new Dry Portion which is less moist and doesn't have the same tobacco flavor of other snus. Catch also offers a Collection snus which changes on a regular basis. Presently the flavor of the Catch Collection is that of ”Fresh Peppermint”. The first one was called ”Catch Chill” and the upcoming one will be ”Catch Violet”. ReviewsCatch Eucalyptus White PortionLaunched in 1984 and manufactured by Swedish Match, Catch White Eucalyptus portion snus is classified as a White type portion meaning that the portions don’t go thru the final step in the manufacturing process that adds a little more moisture to each portion before they get packaged in the can. Omitting this step leaves the portion white in color and a bit dryer than a regular type portion but Swedish Match uses the same soft portion material in Catch White Eucalyptus as they do in most all their snus and is comfortable in the lip for over 2 hours. Each can of Catch White Eucalyptus contains 24, one gram portions with 8 mg of Nicotine each. The can is made of grey plastic with metallic flakes embedded in it to give the can a stylish look with the used portion compartment in the lid but, enough about the can. Let’s take a look at the flavor! Catch White Eucalyptus’ flavor is unique but unknown to some Americans, especially those who have never tasted Eucalyptus. So, we’ll do our best to describe what Catch White Eucalyptus tastes like. While most people think of medicines or cough drops when they hear Eucalyptus, this is not the case here. Catch White Eucalyptus has a minty flavor that is a cross between Wintergreen and Peppermint with a sweet, citrus flavor in the background. The Eucalyptus is actually a light menthol taste that gives the same subtle burn in the lip as Wintergreen flavored snus would give. The combination of the minty flavor, citrus and light menthol taste gives Catch White Eucalyptus a great taste as well as another unique element, the scent in the can. Catch White Eucalyptus is one of a few snus brands that really has no ammonia scent! The only thing you smell is the minty, menthol aromas with a hint of sweetness that comes from the citrus.
