The material that Fielder & Lundgren uses for Granit’s portions is a soft, teabag type material that is pretty comfortable in the lip for about an hour and a half. Each can of Granit portion contains 24, one gram portions with each having 8 mg of Nicotine. Granit’s can is made of black plastic with the top and bottom edges curved to give the can a better feel in your hand and easier to get it in and out of your pocket but, unfortunately, Granit does not have a used portion compartment in its can but, you’re here for the flavors, not the can so, let’s take a look! Fielder & Lundgren describes Granit’s flavor as being of pure tobacco. While we agree that the tobacco is the predominant flavor, we taste a few other subtle elements that give Granit is unique flavor. The tobacco actually has a light black pepper taste while having a subtle sweetness in the background. This sweetness shows up as a sweet, herbal flavor, albeit a very light one. The salt in Granit also helps to bring out both the herbal sweetness and the earthy tobacco flavor while adding the traditional Swedish snus taste. Granit White PortionGranit White portion snus is another fine snus manufactured by the folks at Fiedler & Lundgren. Granit White is classified as a White portion because it does not go thru the final step in the manufacturing process that adds moisture like regular portions do. Fiedler & Lundgren uses the same portion material in Granit White that they use in all its portion snus which, even though it is dryer than its siblings, is comfortable in the lip for over an hour. Each can of Granit White portion snus has 24, one gram portions with each having 8 mg of Nicotine. The can that Granit White comes in is a black molded plastic with rounded edges giving the can a sleek, modern look but unfortunately, there is no used portion compartment. The plasticized label also makes a great seal until you’re ready to open and use it but, enough about the can and label, let’s look at the flavor! Fiedler & Lundgren designed Granit White to have a traditional Swedish snus flavor and while this is what we taste, most of you don’t know just what, exactly, traditional Swedish snus flavor is! Here’s where we try to educate everyone. Traditional Swedish snus flavor is basically Tobacco, salt and a citrus element. In Granit White, we taste the flavor of a mild mix of tobacco, which has a leathery, herbal taste, the salt which, not only adds flavor but helps to release the Nicotine, and the slight hint of bergamot, which tastes like a cross between a lemon and a grapefruit, that gives Granit White a small bit of sweetness in the background. We feel that Fiedler & Lundgren hit the nail on the head with the flavor of Granit White but, we’ll let you decide!
